New Delhi: Indian cricket head coach Gautam Gambhir received death threats on Tuesday. He filed a formal complaint at Rajendra Nagar police station in central Delhi after receiving two threat emails.
Police said the alleged emails were sent to an email ID associated with the former BJP parliamentarian. An investigation is underway, and efforts are being made to identify the sender. The first email, sent around 2.07pm on April 22, contained the message, “IKillYoumailinfo”, while the second email, sent around 7.09pm, read, “Iwillkillyou”.
Gambhir is already under the protection of Delhi Police due to his high-profile status, clarified an officer. However, police didn’t provide any specific details regarding his security arrangements, citing that they do not comment on such matters publicly.
