NEW DELHI: Former Karnataka DGP Om Prakash, a 1981 batch IPS officer, was found dead at his house in Bengaluru on Sunday, the police informed. The officials suspect the involvement of a close family member in the incident.
Initial reports from local media indicated that police are investigating the incident as a suspected murder and have launched a probe.
Prakash was a native of Champaran, Bihar. The 68-year-old held an MSc in Geology and was appointed as the Director General of Police on March 1, 2015.
His body has been sent for autopsy and the probe is under way.
