New Delhi: A charred body of a 29-year-old man was found in a house that caught fire in Northeast Delhi’s Jafrabad on Thursday. Police said they received a PCR call at 6:31 pm reporting a fire at a building on Main Road in Jafrabad. The fire broke out on the ground floor of the building, which housed a godown for cloth used in making jackets.
Three fire tenders were deployed to extinguish the blaze. After the fire was doused, the Delhi Fire Services discovered a charred body at the scene. The body was shifted to GTB Hospital for a postmortem.
Efforts are underway to identify the victim and determine the cause of the fire. “Legal action in the matter has been taken, and further investigation is in progress,” police said. tnn
